Unveiling the Gabe Donnay Recording Studio

Posted November 8, 2022

Gabe Donnay’s family and friends at the Gabe Donnay Recording Studio dedication ceremony.
On October 22, over Penn’s Homecoming Weekend festivities, Penn Live Arts celebrated the memory of Gabe Donnay, Class of 2012 – a talented musician whose community of friends and family made a meaningful gift to honor Gabe’s life with the establishment of a music recording studio in the Annenberg Center.

The state-of-the-art space will serve Penn musicians including students, faculty and staff and be a resource available to the Philadelphia community. Offering the kind of space that Gabe and his college bandmates dreamed of accessing during their time at Penn, the Donnay Studio will carry Gabe’s memory and help student musicians create their art and feel a sense of community.

Gabe’s friends, brother, and mom share memories, including an album Gabe’s college band recorded while at Penn.

We are so grateful to Gabe’s friends and family for sparking this idea, fundraising to establish the studio, and sharing their memories at the heartfelt dedication ceremony over Homecoming Weekend. Please join us in celebrating Gabe’s life and this wonderful addition to Penn’s artistic community.
