Taking audiences on an “unearthly journey” (New York Times), internationally acclaimed dancer Malavika Sarukkai returns to the U.S. to share her mastery of the Indian dance form, Bharatanatyam. Accompanied by live music, Sarukkai’s transfixing and “phenomenally precise” (Washington Post) performance tells the stories of the banks of India’s holy river – of lovers embracing along the shore, a priest performing a spirited ritual and the river’s currents pulling toward the Bay of Bengal.
