The full-length piece chronicles a tough, blue collar, South Philly dockworker with a secret passion for tap-dancing…to 1980s hair metal. An outrageous comedy about identity, repression and the complications of both love and dancing in South Philly, Heavy Metal Dance Fag is Billy Elliot meets Good Will Hunting meets Jersey Shore—a “raw-talking, blood pumping, street smart and altogether charming piece” (Philadelphia Inquirer).
