This year’s performance celebrates the rhythms that have carried us through time — the music that filled living rooms and roller rinks, the sounds that shaped communities, the movements that sparked joy, resistance and transformation. From soulful grooves and timeless classics to moments of reflection and revolution, each piece invites audiences to experience the emotional heartbeat of an era. Our dancers range from 19 years old to 75+ years young, representing a vibrant cross-section of Philadelphia and the surrounding region. Many are returning to dance after decades away from the studio. Others are stepping onto a stage for the very first time. They are teachers, doctors, parents, neighbors, artists, and dreamers — everyday people who have chosen to reclaim movement and share their stories with courage and authenticity. Through jazz, tap, ballet, modern, hip-hop, praise, and more, our dancers travel across time — honoring the roots that ground us, the rhythms that unite us, and the revolutions that remind us we are always evolving. More than a recital, Rhythm, Roots & Revolution is a celebration of community, resilience, and the enduring human desire to move, connect, and express what words alone cannot. Join us before the show for a vibrant pre‑reception from 4:30–5:30 PM, where the lobby comes to life with music, laughter and community. Guests are invited to support local small businesses at our vendor tables, enjoy the sounds of our world‑phamous DJ and be entertained by our emcee’s hilarious commentary. With top‑notch raffle prizes, photo opportunities and plenty of time to mingle, it’s the perfect way to start the evening before seating begins promptly at 5:30 PM.
