In celebration of the 125th Birthday of Paul L. Robeson, West Philadelphia Cultural Alliance presents an incomparable evening with Sweet Honey In The Rock, along with international choirs from Wales and local choirs here in Philadelphia. Robeson, who spent the last 10 years of his life in Philadelphia, was well-known for his signature song “Ol’ Man River” and his tireless advocacy of oppressed people all over the world while he faced persecution at home for his activism.
This celebration is happening alongside national partners in The Robeson Alliance, whose members are organizing other birthday activities. Please visit the websites for all the activities: paulrobesonhouse.org and paulrobesonalliance.org.
