The Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts is pleased to present the 26th annual Philadelphia International Children’s Festival. The Children’s Festival will take place April 27 – May 1, 2010, and we are seeking responsible and enthusiastic volunteers to help make it a success. The Children’s Festival includes family-friendly music, theatre and dance performances as well as a host of fun and interactive activities. Volunteers can assist with a variety of duties, including ticket-taking, ushering, staffing activity booths and photo documentation. There are so many opportunities for you to help! Free meals will be provided for all volunteers and additionally, in appreciation for your time, the Annenberg Center is happy to offer all volunteers a pair of tickets for a performance from the 10/11 season. (Some restrictions apply. Based on availability.)
Volunteer Positions:
1. Visitor Services
Description: Greet and provide information to Children’s Festival visitors about artists, events, activities and locations; supervision of children and site, etc.
Qualifications: Personable, responsible and dependable. Previous customer service and/or volunteer experience preferred.
Date(s) and Time(s):
April 27, 28, 29, 30 : 8:30 AM to 2 PM
-Volunteers working these shifts will receive one complimentary meal and breaks throughout the day
May 1 : 9 AM to 7 PM
-Volunteers working this shift will receive two complimentary meals and breaks throughout the day
2. Arts and Crafts
Description: Work directly with children on art activities and face painting; setup and breakdown of work spaces, etc.
Qualifications: Energetic, responsible and dependable. Previous volunteer experience, experience working with children and background in arts preferred.
