After a week's stint at The Blue Note in New York City, the Mack Avenue SuperBand headed down Interstate 95 for a one night engagement in The Zellerbach Theater in The Annenberg Center For The Arts.
The usual outpouring of admiration for the band's musical director and Philly native Christian McBride was evident by the packed house.
The night featured a split set with works from the groups Detroit Jazz album, which were introduced the respective composing artists, and others which co musical director Gary Burton warned had just been practiced for the first time that afternoon.
The groups configuration also included Tia Fuller - Sax, Sean Jones - Trumpet, Christian Sands - Piano and Carl Allen - Drums.
All in all a great night of Jazz where everyone performed that which what was expected, but no one had anything to prove......Symbiosis
