The curtain is going up on the region's theater season -- and what a season it's going to be. With diverse offerings that run the gamut from classic musicals to avant garde/cutting edge drama, there's that proverbial "something for everyone" in the remainder of the 2009 season.
"Our 2009/10 theater season focuses on the works of Shakespeare," explains Lauren Saul, spokesperson for the Annenberg Center. The wonderful space on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania will be presenting "MacHomer," (Oct. 14 to 17), a hilarious Simpsons-inspired version of Macbeth. "We are also thrilled that Shakespeare's Globe Theatre of London will be returning to the Annenberg Center for the first time since 2005 to perform the comedy "Love's Labours Lost (Oct. 27 to 31). This will be one of only a few U.S. performances for the Globe," notes Saul.
